In April 2011 I was awarded my PhD. My thesis focused on crime and detective fiction from the 1880s and 1890s. My book, Shadows of Sherlock: British and Irish Crime Fiction, 1885-1900, has been contracted by Palgrave Macmillan and will be out in 2013.
