I teach American literature of the nineteenth, twentieth & twenty-first centuries, with interests in twentieth-century American poetry, contemporary American fiction, Puritan and revolutionary America, the American nineteenth century, westerns, crime fiction, as well as in film, most recently the American movies of Alfred Hitchcock. Wider enquiries into poetry and the possibilities of poetic language more generally is a growing area of interest.
