About

Franziska Schroeder is a saxophonist and theorist. She received her saxophone training in Berlin, Australia and later in Bordeaux. Franziska holds a PhD from the School of Arts, Culture and Environment, The University of Edinburgh. Franziska has written for many international journals, including Leonardo, Performance Research, Cambridge Scholars and Routledge. Her book "Re-situating Performance Within The Threshold: Performance practice understood through theories of embodiment" appeared in May 2009: http://tiny.cc/XPH1A .
In December 2009 she published an edited volume on user-generated content (Cambridge Scholars Publishing): http://tiny.cc/M9ne5 .
In 2007 Franziska was awarded a three year AHRC funded Research Fellowship at the Sonic Arts Research Centre in Belfast where she investigated network performance environments.
Since December 2009 Franziska has been a Lecturer/Academic Fellow at the School of Music and Sonic Arts at Queen's University Belfast where she currently teaches 3rd year and MA performance students.
